Alicante gastronomic Tour 1

Alicante Gastronomic Tour

During this 3 hours tour, we will visit the Central Market while we try different local food at the Market stalls.

The Alicante Central Market is the largest indoor market in Spain. It is hundred years old and the centre of the social life in Alicante since it was built.

Even if it is one step away of the main tourist attractions, it is still a local Market where most of the stalls have been owned by the same families through generations.

We will talk about its history and Alicante gastronomy while interacting with the owners of the stalls.

Since the Market only opens until 2:30pm, the tour must start at least 3 hours before.

We can offer two different kinds of “menus” depending on your budget:

Option 1:

Two savoury local pies, assortment of olives, gourmet salted fish (hueva, mojama and fish crust), assortment of local tomatoes, cold sausages from Alicante mountains, Iberian ham tasting (the 4 existing qualities of Iberian ham) and seasonal fruits. Price: 15€ per person.

Option 2:

Two savoury local pastries, red tuna toast, wine tasting (a red and a white wine DO Alicante), 2 cold sausages and 2 cheeses, Iberian ham tasting (the 4 existing qualities of Iberian ham), tomato salad, season fruits, turron (traditional sweet) and a local liquor.  Price: 25€ per person.

Do you want something different? Do you have vegetarians in your party? Would you like to include other things like scallops or octopus? Just tell us what you need and we will tailor the experience to your needs.

Tour de cocina de Paella y Sangría

Paella & Sangría Cooking Experience

Eating Paella and drinking Sangría is a must when visiting Spain. But if on top of that you learn how to cook them, the experience will be superb!

During this workshop you will learn how to cook an authentic Alicante style Paella and Sangria. The Paella we suggest is shrimp and cuttle fish, since it is the traditional from the area, but we can cook any flavour you prefer.

All the ingredients are fresh, bought at the Central Market. Just a few minutes away from the workshop place.

In fact, if you are available in the morning (the Market opens only until 2:30pm), we can visit the Market and buy the ingredients all together for no extra cost.

Along with the Paella and Sangría, we prepare some local aperitives such as tomato salad with salted fish (that we previously torch), a cold sausage from Alicante mountains and Iberian Ham. As a dessert, you will enjoy the best seasonal local fruits.

Are there any vegetarians in your party? Do not worry! We can cook a fish/meat paella and, also, a vegetarian one. We can also provide vegetarian aperitives.

If available, we can also offer a guitar player to play a few songs at the end of the experience, as the icing on the cake. If interested, please, ask for prices and availability.

The minimum requested for this experience is 10 people. If you do not reach the number, you can also join the set-up activity for individual travellers. (añadir link)
