Elche is a city about 30 minutes away from Alicante. There are two Wold Heritage by the UNESCO: The Palm Trees Parks (largest palm tree farm in Europe) and a theatre playwright that takes place at The Basilica de Santa María.
Also, Elche was the most important Roman town in the area. However, the actual Elche was founded by the arabs. Therefore, one of the most important remains is the Calahorra Tower, almost a thousand years old.

Also, the 43% of the footwear produced in Spain is produced in Elche. Therefore, some shopping is mandatory!
